Some sound advice when selecting your dance...

On this page you will find all the most popular dances of the day. While social dancers generally start with one or two specific styles and work hard at becoming very good at them; we later realize that we tend to sit out many songs because most events play music that represent many different dance styles. We don't know how to dance to the music so we sit on the sideline.

Try to learn as many dances as you can so you can enjoy the variety you will find at Tea Dances, Galas, Weddings, Night Clubs, House Parties, Music/Dance Festivals, Work/Christmas Parties, Cruise Ships. The list is endless but you get the picture...

All dances are comprised of four basic elements: Forward, Backward, Side and Turn. Mastering these movements makes learning any dance easier and allows you to broaden your range of dance styles. A social dancer wants to be able to dance to any beat that comes along so take the time to learn all the dances and you have much more fun on the social dance floor.
